The Christmas decorations already out in some shops, but whilst they are causing more consternation than cries of joy at the moment, there is still a lot to be said for being prepared. Whilst the festive period is definitely too far off in the distance to think about, there is one season worth getting ready for - autumn.

If you’re an organised type of person, or aspire to be one day, now is the time to plan ahead so you can truly nail your look this autumn.

The promise of cosy jumpers, falling leaves, leather boots and fireworks makes autumn a season not to be missed. While the elements may ensure we wrap up a little more, there is still every opportunity for our bodies to look beautiful - and our hands play a big part. A good manicure and the perfect polish can leave us looking and feeling amazing in any autumn wear.

The major fashion houses have had their say and there is officially opportunity for your nails to look fabulous this coming autumn. Deep reds with high shine are set to be on trend alongside colourful cuticles and blacks blinged up with a metallic touch to take them well away from grunge.

Milky pink and pastel purple nudes are also promising to be popular for those of you who like a more understated chic. For those who don’t, it is perfectly acceptable to add a twist with glitter or even some crystal embellishments. If you want to go one step further then negative space nails with a circle cut out at the tip are also out there. Way out there.

Whichever autumn look you opt for, having got your nails on point the last thing you need is something popping up to steal their limelight. Like an unsightly blemish. From sun spots to skin tags and seborrheic or actinic keratosis to warts, blemishes come in various shapes and sizes. When they are on the hands though, all are hard to hide.

If you are fed up with blemishes bringing you down and spoiling your look then it’s time to consider cryotherapy.

Cryotherapy uses a very cold temperature to remove benign skin blemishes by freezing them. The cold disrupts the cells that make up the blemish, eventually destroying them. The treatment is highly effective, safe and virtually pain free with no anaesthetic required.

I offer cryotherapy using the CryoPen™ X which produces a fine jet of nitrous oxide under high pressure. This means I can work with millimetre precision to successfully remove blemishes and leave beautiful looking skin. As a GP with years of experience including dermatology training, I can also ensure a blemish is suitable for removal by cryotherapy, so your hands are in safe hands.

If you would like to find out more about the cryotherapy treatments, I offer either at the Southern Independent Medical Practice in Salisbury or Carl Hillwood Hair and Beauty in Fordingbridge, then contact me by phoning 01722 632633 or 07493 520517 to arrange a free consultation. Get ready to handle this autumn with style and whichever look you choose, nail it.
